I Have a Question

IS abortion murder? I think you can only murder a person and a fetus is not a person.

I was talking to a girl who seemed to feel that the only quality of personhood is being genetically human. Or at least she was unwilling to suggest any other characteristics that might make a person.

What say you?

It definitely is part of the definition. But a car and a plane both have "vehicle"as part of their definition but they're certainly not the same thing.

I think i disagree though that a person must be human. What if we encounter intelligent, sophisticated alien life on our level? Wouldn't they be people?
