If someone I've never even heard of messages me like that, I just ignore it. If they actually have something to say to me, they'll eventually say it - and THEN I can decide whether or not to respond!😅
If it's someone I've been communicating with in comments, or if they're someone I knew from EP, I might just message back with "😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝😝"😉 That would normally be sufficient to start a conversation .... 😇

Yes, I do.
You either want to talk to the person you sent the message to or you don't. I'm even more irritated if I respond, "Hi, what can I do for you?", and get another one or two word response. I mean, you are the one that contacted me, what do you want to talk about.

I do prefer that they say more, like introduce themselves or say what they want to chat about.

How do you figure the motive from those phrases alone though? Lol
Picklebobble · 56-60, M
Not rude so much as sad.
I have no problem talking to anybody about anything!
It's fine to just say hi. But it would be so much nicer if the person writing just said what was on their mind!
"Hi. Just saw your response to the question on-------. I thought it was ------.
That's all folk have to do!

No. It depends on their motive.
VNess · 31-35, F
Well yea you can figure the motive for the conversation after the initial "hey" but when i read it, it's like i don't really care about the following conversion because of lack of interest from the get go
missit15 · 56-60, M
I don't think men mind because we don't get as many messages as women. Women get so many its hard for them to filter out the owns that don't hold there interest...
VNess · 31-35, F
Yea i understand completely. I laughed when i thought of the simple reply "wanna chat" after saying "hi what can i do for you" haha
VNess · 31-35, F
Yea i agree unfortunately i think people find it to difficult or are a bit lazy when it comes to initiating any kind of talk
bcvegas4u · 70-79, M
The replies I hate - Oh, nothing.

odin5461 · 36-40, M
sometimes its hard to start a conversation and it just sounds polite
JustKeepScrolling · 36-40, M
It's the following messages that help you determine their motive.
absomething · 31-35, F
if it is the first one is not rude is stupid! and I don't reply at all!
xmedleft · 51-55, M
Not rude, unimaginative, sure, but not rude.
JustKeepScrolling · 36-40, M
Yea, you could just ignore it.
uncalled4 · 56-60, M
Not really, no. Doesn't bother me.
