I Have a Question

Why would someone post a picture of themselves asking whether other people consider them to be attractive? 1) I don't think strangers on the Internet would say anything negative about other people 's appearance, not directly at least 2) I think that the only judge of how attractive you are should be you (if you feel comfortable in your own skin other people's opinions shouldn't matter at all) 3) That to me seems like you're only fishing for compliments/attention. This is just my opinion, I might be wrong though.

What rock have you been living under? No, seriously, I'd like to move there. It sounds much more pleasant. Anyway, people constantly say negative things about other peoples appearance over the internet, whether they were asked to or not (though it seems like asking will give more negative comments than not).
And people who do that are generally unhappy with their appearance and just want to read something positive about themselves so they feel better. There's nothing wrong with wanting to be complimented and I don't understand why people look down at someone who admits that they do. Like it's such a terrible thing to want to have nice things said about you... and it's not like they're forcing people to say anything.
About number 2.. that's easy to say and in an ideal world that is how we'd all think but that's not how the world is right now, there's all this judgement and pressure to look a certain way regardless of gender but mostly for females. It's not easy for everyone to just ignore it all.
