I Have a Question

@Abrienda @Feetarefantastic The point to remember is that Facebook doesn't actually care about our privacy, even though they claim otherwise. They don't care about free speech either. Facebook is a *partnership* between Facebook and the governments of the world. Facebook does whatever its masters in government order it to do, like a little puppet, because if they don't march to the orders of government then they are out of business.

Ironically enough, people on Facebook are more rude to each other than they are here, even though on Facebook they are using their real names and photos. I mean this is a totally anonymous site, where people often say very dysfunctional things, but still this site is more polite than Facebook. I don't get it.

Hate it ever since Zuckerberg was caught on open mike agreeing with a request by Germany's leader Merkel to monitor and suppress anti-Moslem statements. That was it for me.

@WiltingRose It makes me depressed as well. I had a lot of people in my friend list-even the ones I didn't like and I spent all my time comparing myself to others which made me depressed and more self conscious. I like the part where you get to interact with your friends and all but Facebook is just a popularity contest. I hate that I let myself get drawn into all of that,I spent a lot of time editing pictures,worrying about captions and likes. What a dumb bimbo I was..

I agree Feetie. Their was also a sting of fb in which an Israeli newspaper placed two postings; one defending Israel's war in Gaza, the other calling for the "liberation" of Palestine and the death of all Jews. Guess which one was taken down for "violating fb standards of discourse"? Guess which one was left up? Until of course the paper published the story.

@Abrienda I didn't know about that.I think it's ridiculous. It's the internet goddammit,people should be allowed to express their opinions. I usually avoid reading comment sections on both YouTube and Facebook,it's full of drama like this.

I hate getting on Facebook because of my family! It's a constant barrage of religion politics and oh my God you like Pink! You're going to hell! Yeah I probably am but not for those reasons!

Wilting rose- yup agree wiv u on dat as irritating when u see like this or. 7 years bad luck blah blah blah but I limit what I see on newsfeed if people post annoying stuff

It is true it was on German TV. The problem is fb decided only SOME opinions are valid and others not while pretending they are fair and honest

Kelly,don't forget all those articles with click-baiting headlines. It's so incredibly annoying. Other things like people posting: pictures of their injuries,long angry political/religious rants (as if their opinion is going to change something)Invites to events,frequent relationship updates and LET'S NOT FORGET all those ridiculous selfies(seriously how many pictures can you take in one day?!).

Only good for keeping up with family in far flung places. Twice a week check in.

Oh I totally get you about the drama part. Whenever I come back (I often deactivate my account) all I see is people who are enemies in real life commenting on each other's posts like they are best friends and people complaining about their lives. It's becoming like Twitter. @agreatday

I'm afraid FB is not the end of it. We are monitored more and more and censorship is coming quickly everywhere. Also what the hell is privacy? There is no privacy if you're on the internet. Google knows everything you do, Microsoft knows everything... *sigh* Might as well ditch all technology one day.
