Can a person still love after being cheated on?

my high school boyfriend is totally hung up on all the girls that cheated on him. He dumped me then because he thought I was too crazy, but we were just different. the girls he dated after (and there is been a lot) keep breaking his heart. I keep telling him he is picking the wrong girls but he doesn't listen to me. He is sure he is unlovable, even when I tell him a part of me still loves him. Even if we didn't work out, he was my first love. I guess it means nothing to him since he does mention from time to time he never liked me and he was just using me for sex.

My point is, be careful who you get in relationships with and don't be a douche and you'll be fine.
