Have you ever taken antidepressants? How did they make you feel?

It's interesting how everyone has a different experience with this. The people I know in real life said that they made them more happy and optimistic. The thing I noticed is that they also make you slow. When you talk to them,you can see that they are not fully themselves and they take time to respond to and process information.
That's what I noticed from observing them, I'm not sure about how they were feeling on the inside. I thought about using antidepressants but I thought that would only be a quick fix and that it will only make me forget about my problems temporarily instead of dealing with them.
