There's something about an online community that can bond over shared experiences. Maybe it's the anonymous nature of it but I think it's fair to say we sometimes need that outside validation we get from folks who don't know us. One feels secure in knowing people connections online are a lot easier to control.
They dont know people in your life, and so nothing is going to spiral out of control.
