If you were renovating..

Would you want your kitchen window looking out the next door neighbour bigger and longer
or higher and narrower?

I don't know why my husband wants ours bigger and longer.

I hate renovating, it cost money. I rather keep leaving in a dump then be broke all the time

Our home was built in around 1850 and it started out as a log home and they built on top of that over the centuries. It went from a one room home to 8 bedroom farmhouse. The upstairs bedrooms still don't have electricity or forced air heat. They still use small wood burning belly heaters to heat the rooms.

The whole house is heated by wood still, we have to make firewood every year and we don't have a hot water heater, but have indoor plumbing and a electric water pump. (We put that in 20 years ago, we had to have a new well dug)

@GoFish we have windows on all sides with blockout blinds.

@GunFinger i had blinds and the pups destroyed them do we have "curtains" over them now

I would think that a wider window would let in more light. A tall window in a kitchen sounds kind of odd to me, but would need to see it.

Keeping up with the jones is a real thing in the west. Not sure why it's so important but they do that too in the usa. I honestly couldnt care less. I want my home to be unique
