"Cold calling" in sales is a tough gig. Flirting, with random strangers, is the social equivalent.
If you've not first built a raport, or established a minimum level of familiarity; prepare to have a lot of doors slammed in your face, and maybe a few rounds of mace.
That goes double for any sidewalk encounter in New York City.
