Certainly there are cause and effect relationships, and behavior has consequences both good and bad. I find that there's a goodly amount of randomness thrown in with life, too...it rains on the just and the unjust.

I believe in free will, not destiny, but I do believe everything happens for a reason. Because Action A-1 leads to Action A-2, and so on, but can change if some variable is changed in between. If Action B-1 is taken instead, then it leads to Action B-2, and so on. Action B in this case is an entirely different action from Action A. It's the choice you would pick if you didn't pick Action A in the first place. We pick different paths that lead to many different choices. There will be benefits and costs for every action we take. I also believe everything happens for a reason because whatever we do has positive and negative outcomes. We can choose to regret what we did or accept it. I'd rather be happy with my choices, even if pain and suffering came with them.

Yep, also believe we're only designed to know a fixed amount.:)

I think it does, but sadly, we don't always get to find out why.

Yes...God has a plan for each of us and only he knows what that plan is!

No. Sadly.
I mean at least if it did, life wouldn't appear so random all the time!
Humans like logic. A reason for everything.
A cause you can always trace anything back to.
But invariably there seems little logic to much of life.
I suppose that's why some of us are reluctant to look forward to the future.

Are you asking if I believe in fate? Destiny? Karma? No I don't believe in any of that. Things just happen but it is totally random and totally unpredictable.
FeetAreFantastic · 41-45, M
@EpicFail: that's fine of course if you do. :)
