When someone doesn't show you any empathy when you go through something difficult, what do you do when they go through something difficult?

I’m fucking petty in that kinda situation.

I used to be the one taking the “higher road” but decades of being taken advantage of got me jaded and no where.

Now I let them deal with their problems on their own like they did for me.
