It’s some kind of subculture with people being into human like animals I guess. Is it a form of cosplaying?

Sounds like the kind of folks you'd find at a rave. Just a guess though, also reminds me of a featurette on The Dirty Shame DVD, John Waters last official film. From that there's a term Bear, it's hairy men liking other hairy men.
