The reasons are fast and vary. Being in the analytical field I studied this phenomenon for a time and asked questions. But my findings are too long for here. One of the common replies was that he wanted to get close to her- and he could not-for a lot of reasons. Others were overtly more sexual in nature. Some I found quite innocent as he,like she,likes to explore. Some found nothing wrong with this-most felt a lot of internal guilt.--even as they were doing it.
