Texas did it first

Indiana wants to do the same thing now, yet the other party. Surely there are enough Democrats in Indiana to justify at least one Democratic seat.

I live in Maryland and the Dems are taking more and more through gerrymandering. They have manipulated my district from very solid red to teal blue over the last 20 years. The government lead by Dems is as crooked as it gets.

@Gibbon Same way Republicans have been doing it for the last hundred years. Doesn't feel so nice, does it, gramps?
Gibbon · 70-79, M
@ItsMeMorgue you don't have a clue about the land grabs that have gone on here. And you can call me gramps. You're getting older every day and can't get one of those days back.

He's a politician, NOT a professional.

@HoeBag I remember back in the '90s, everybody was freaking out because Clinton didn't abide by the same decorum as Bush, and they were predicting he would lose the election as a result.
HoeBag · 46-50, F
@ItsMeMorgue Clinton was a character to say the least. 😬

It's a little late for you people to be talking about what's professional and what's not. Your president is calling reporters Piggy, and that's the nicest thing he has to say to his enemies.

@ItsMeMorgue He is the absolute worst in my opinion. The things he says, no president in the past has ever said. But I was so hung up on, the left calls out the president daily on things he says, then the ones calling him out, they also do it!!! That's NOT how it's supposed to work. You can't have your cake and eat it too. I voted 3rd party in 2024 btw.
ItsMeMorgue · 46-50, F
@twiigss I apologize for assuming that he was your president. But voting third party in a crucial election like that kind of handed him the presidency.

@ItsMeMorgue Thank you for the apology. It wasn't nice to assume that of me. My post was trying to delve on just one aspect of an individual who may be in the running for president in 2028, and he should be just as professional as anyone else would. Why the president does what he does, I will never understand, I think it's careless and stupid, but I do understand there is a lot more unprofessionalism going on, but this event was recent and that is also why I mentioned it.
I believe we need a third party in charge. Vote based on who you think will be the best person to run this country. But the thing is, we really shouldn't rely on the government for every, single, little thing either. Do we not have voices of our own? Why are people 80+ years old and STILL in congress? None of them represent me. They do nothing for me.
As I mentioned I listen to WBAL news radio. One of the radio show hosts was talking with a caller and the host said something to the effect of, "I get it that he may not be who you voted for, but at the end of the day he is the president" While that is true, on the technical terms he is the president, I don't support him at all. I'm expecting the 2026 midterms to undo the house and senate control republicans have and begin impeachment of the president. But when you step back and look at it all, it's so ridiculous. D goes after R, R goes after D, oh and now we're back to D going after R. When will these people work for US, We The People??? They keep going at each other constantly, and yet I feel like they do literally nothing for me at all. I'm an Independent and I vote for who I think will do the best job. But I also think the third party deserves an honest chance. Let's see how they do. I used to hear years ago how people would vote D or R because their granddad voted that way for 50 years and it's tradition. I think that's the dumbest thing you could do with your vote these days. A coworker of mine says, "it's better to vote, you know you got out there and voted for who you wanted and it's better than not voting at all" I had planned to not vote in 2024 and my coworker said if I go out and vote, I got out and voted for who I wanted.
I'm just sick of the constant fighting, the constant hate, the constant bickering. So I will continue to vote for who I think the best person is to do the job. If that happens to be a third party candidate, then they will get my vote. But at this point I am not at all thrilled about the two main political parties. I'm so done with both of them at this point. We need change in this country, for the better.
