Someone you had thought to be very smart ,
actually turned out to be pretty dumb and ordinary,

would you still invest in him the way you did before ?

is it a hard, technical, provable them not being smart or is it a difference of opinion? are ther other things this person knows or are they of the 'unfoundedlt confident' class?
