Why don't some men care how things look when they're building?

The light isn't even in the centre. My ocd will be acting up whenever I go out there and feel shit.

As an electrician, I am very ocd about centering things. I joke with customers that all of my cover plate screws have to be vertical so the electrons can flow freely.

Now in the defense of the electricians not centering the light. The gang box for the light has to be attached to rafter, when are generally 16-24 inches on center, depending on the building code. The rafters may not have aligned to the center of the room in question.

@Hinckley that's lazy BS though. Theres a plethora of code compliant braces and brackets with built in gang boxes for mounting away from rafter
@MethDozer Personally, I would have boxed it out to give the fixture the ability to hang a ceiling fan. One of the issues especially in residential construction it's more than likely the person doing the electrical work is neither a journeyman, or even an apprentice electrician.
