Where I work, most of the employees were hired right before or during COVID, so remote work is normal to them. I came up in the era when you were either out in the field or in the office. I definitely learned a lot from working right next to people that I could ask questions and share experiences with. The newer people tell me they use MS Teams and talk to each other all the time, and people certainly don't hesitate to contact me on Teams if they have a question.
I do remember how chaotic the office felt when everybody was there at the same time.
