I Have a Question

Should that poor gorilla have been shot?
Makes me gggggrrrrrrrr
GlassDog · 41-45, M
From a human point of view, we have to protect humans, especially young ones. From a gorilla point of view, it seems a bit unfair to be taken from one's home, imprisoned without having committed a crime, and then executed for showing an interest when something happens to break the tedium of zoo life.
Isn't anyone happy that the kid is alive and okay.. all I'm hearing is poor gorilla. It wasn't the kids fault nor was it the gorillas fault.. but at the end of the day it's the boys life that mattered most.

It makes me so angry, I know it was for the child's sake but this whole thing could have been avoided if the parents were watching the kid. I hate the part where the mom goes "Mommy's here" and I'm like no you're not!

[c=#E50000]@Inthedankshadows They were trying to control their other children. Also it's the zoo's fault for not having proper area's around the animals. I've been to that zoo more than once. I'm from Ohio.[/c]
Accidents happen in a blink of an eye. I have a three I know. We can say what if all we want.. but that doesn't change the outcome. I'm just glad the kid wasn't killed.

No.
But it's easier to make an animal pay the price for the "incident" than to accept the OBVIOUS fact that the blame lies squarely with the people who designed/approved/built the enclosure, because otherwise how could anyone (least of all a 4 year old child) get IN? And also with whoever was supervising the child - zoos contain dangerous animals ffs, as well as paedophiles, rapists, and general psychopaths! You need to look after a child and keep them SAFE, as in ALL places, public or otherwise!😠

But they were right about tranquillisers being too dangerous for the child - gorillas weigh a ton, and having it land on him would have been fatal.😖

@Diyanne, no they killed him cuz they said the tranquilizer would not have worked.
Inthedankshadows · 46-50, M
@jessa yeah but angry at the kids parents.
Diyanne · F
@Sunchild. Yeah? 😢😢
I'm surprised the poor baby didn't drown.
They did what they had to.. it could have escalated in a second. Tranquilizers would have taken seconds to a minute to kick in.. seconds were everything in this case.

I don't think they kill the gorilla. They used the gun with sedative medication to induce the gorilla to sleep.

Without knowing all the details - I am unsure. Would it have been possible to tranquilise the gorilla ? But I also realise something needed to be done quickly.
Perhaps more relevant - not shown on our TV's here - how did that child get into the enclosure? Was the mother watching him?

I'm from Ohio, too.

Yes, Totally, but the Mother shoudn't have turned her back on her son, so she has to accept some of the blame, but she'll get over it when she wins a boat full of money from the lawsuit she'll file against the zoo, money grubbing bitch.

[c=#0000E5]@Winston No because the tranquilizers that too long to take effect and no telling how the gorilla would of reacted when got with it. Easy access and crawling/exploring. Dealing with her other children.[/c]

[c=#000066]@MalteseFalconPunch Yea what is stupid is someone made an online Petition to charge the parents like really??[/c]
