Is anyone tempted to buy anything when they see a add for Black Friday sales?

@cherokeepatti There's a Big Lots! in the vicinity that I've visited in the past. It's not a scam. Their deal is that they get shipments of overflow items or other shipments rejected by other stores. They don't pay much for them so they can sell them cheap. I don't know all of the fine print on that specific ad.

What I thought was misleading is that when they sell a $20 for $3, they know it's going to sell out within seconds. They have some, but not a big enough pile to sell them all day for days on end. So you didn't get that huge brick of paper towels but you'll find something else you think you need.

@joe438 Yeah I could always use paper towels. I didn’t want to fork over a debit card number for this, just couldn’t trust it. There were other things I could have ordered to top that $40 but didn’t trust it enough.

@cherokeepatti Never use a debit card for such things, always a credit card. At least then if they try to defraud you it won't empty your bank account and you can probably rely on the card issuer to deal with the problem.

@calicuz The "While Supplies Last" may mean they only have 1.

@calicuz and free shipping too for $40 and over….they’d be losing their butts on that. They could easily sell these items for about 5 times more in the store to get traffic inside but no let’s pay for shipping costs on top of dirt-cheap savings. That don’t make any sense at all to me.
