How would you describe your childhood?

@Menetics My parents decided to move my siblings and I to a religious college campus. Then my dad was a pastor for a few years after that so we moved a lot and pretty far distances.

@thepreposterouspanda Did you make any friends when staying in those places? Do you consider yourself religious? I'm sorry if I'm getting a bit personal.

@Menetics I did, but I always ended up losing them when we moved again. It's really hard for me to make friends now because I just don't trust that they'll stick around.

Nope, I'm not religious at all. I saw too much of the negative side of it. :)

@Menetics I tried but they were never really interested in reconnecting. 😅

My mom was actually pretty abusive growing up and religion played a big part in that too so yeah, it's just not for me. 😂

@thepreposterouspanda I get that. Was she abusive physically or emotionally? I grew up in a multicultural household but went to a Private Catholic school so it was very strict. I was blinded for most of my young adult life and wanted to dedicate my life to Church but thankfully, an incident opened my eyes. There's nothing wrong in believing but we should extinguish the right from wrong. I mean, if you read the bible, you know what I'm talking about XD

@Menetics Both. I got beaten with a lot of different things and pretty often and she also just terrorized me. We still don't really have a relationship because of it, and especially since my siblings didn't experience any of it. Just me.

I haven't picked up a bible in a very long time. 😅 I dunno, I just see nothing but hatred and negativity in most religious people. Not all of them, but most of them. It's not what I want to be around at this point in life and especially after all the health stuff I've been through now. 😂

@thepreposterouspanda She doesn't sound very nice. Why do you think you got all the punishments while your other siblings didn't?

I understand. I hope you can find someone that's going to change your view on religion. You just have to surround yourself with good people. Hmmm... What health stuff? If you don't mind me asking.

@Menetics They were going to a church that was very "spare the rod, spoil the child" and she put it into practice. I also am just hardheaded and don't like being told what to do. 😅

I developed an autoimmune disorder that attacked my brain, lungs, and kidneys in 2010 and left me completely disabled. Then I had a broken hip for seven months that had to be replaced in 2011. Since then, the disorder has moved to my liver and parotid glands as well. It has been an interesting journey to say the least. XD

@thepreposterouspanda Being stubborn can be a good thing lol We're not easily influenced XD

I want to be sympathetic towards you but at the same time angry that these types of diseases even exist. Don't let your disability stop you from having a wonderful life. Live life as you want it to be :)

@Menetics It's the only reason I'm still here, so I'll definitely take it. XD I blame my Scottish and German heritage for the stubbornness haha.

I'm doing my best! Seeing a new doctor now and I'm actually going to a new part of the spinal center next month to hopefully figure out how to help the spinal cord damage I have. :) It has made my legs cramp all the time for 13 years and it's starting to be a lot. Gonna have to have my other hip replaced too because I have arthritis in it now from overuse.

Life is a wild ride. 😂

Thank you! Honestly, I've had pretty good luck up 'til now. :) It's been a lot to survive and I'm lucky for the people that have helped me along the way!

@thepreposterouspanda I'm not really into politics. There are some things that I like about the right and the same thing about the left.

@Menetics I'm not either. It's basically just the new religion at this point and we already know I don't care for those so it just gets added on the pile. 😂
