a day on which those who died in active military service are remembered, traditionally observed on May 30 but now officially observed on the last Monday in May.
Also marks the beginning of summer.

I know what it means for Americans, but for us it's a public bank holiday without a meaning other than the time of year. We do have Armistice Day, though, to commerate the end of the Great War.

A day to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice supporting and defending our great country, or liberating other countries providing them their freedom. A day dedicated to our fallen heros from the armed forces of the United States.

It is a time for us in America to reflect on those whom were brave enough to make the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedom. Sadly though, the meaning of this day has been diluted my commercialism.
It stands for the sacrifice of our freedom!

To a lot of people it's a day of remembrance. People died and now Americans drink beer, eat and act like jerks packing themselves in tourist areas buying useless doodads made in China.
