Did your parents prepare you for adulthood?
Did you talk about budgeting, bullies, racial discrimination, sex, taxes, etc? What subjects did your parents teach you and what subjects have you taught your children as they are growing up?

I was not prepared. I learned through a partner and googling things. I’ve been able to teach so much I didn’t have, like how to drive, make appointments and important phone calls, budget, and build credit. Ive helped comfort, and identify and process feelings and bad things that have happened to him. I’ve been able to support choices about his body, sense of style, and decisions about his future. Raising a kid has helped me heal a lot.
