Did your parents prepare you for adulthood?

Did you talk about budgeting, bullies, racial discrimination, sex, taxes, etc? What subjects did your parents teach you and what subjects have you taught your children as they are growing up?

Not at all. Well no, she taught me to send thank you notes and how to iron. Those were really important to her. Everything else was just common sense. She did the best she knew how.
Dad really didn’t have a hand in anything.

@nonsensiclesnail they both taught me manners, but not really the practical lessons in life as what I mentioned. I wish they did.
@GunFinger If im going to be overly negative, I learned that women are only valuable. For their bodies and everything anyone doesn’t like is my fault and Ineed to fix it. But, that wasn’t intentional of course.
My mom and dad both had their own lives and traumas which bled into our life as a family. Disappoints me now, but Its not like Im mad about it, not anymore. They are jsut people and we are all pretty …messed up. But hey are good people too. I learned a lot about life by watching those around me, what to do, what not to do. Wasn’t always right, but it was all I had.
They had really hard lives too. Difficult to hold that against them. Even if at times I think they should have known better and tried harder.
