I was catfished once by someone I could have sworn was real. I was in my 30's then.
I look back at it now and can see the changes it all caused in the way I deal with people online.
Though there are many other RL things involved that are more responsible for the way I am and can sometimes be.
I remember it hurting back then as I figured it out and became aware that things were off.
I wasn't scammed for money or anything. But it felt at the time that a vampire had sucked emotions out of me that left me drained completely.
