Is it true the Brits don’t have/use air conditioners?

I met a British lady at the hair salon yesterday that has moved here… and she told me they do not. Wow learned something there if it’s true. I asked her why, and she told me it’s not that hot there. Hmmm I wonder how she likes our hot weather… I bet she has one now. 🤔

Haven't seen much AC in Europe in general. UK has a cool climate similar to the pacific northwest where I live. AC isn't the norm here either.
