Is it true the Brits don’t have/use air conditioners?

I met a British lady at the hair salon yesterday that has moved here… and she told me they do not. Wow learned something there if it’s true. I asked her why, and she told me it’s not that hot there. Hmmm I wonder how she likes our hot weather… I bet she has one now. 🤔

I've seen videos of Brits discussing air conditioning and saying it's fairly rare to have home air conditioning because in most of the UK it doesn't often get that hot -- but what with the tarmac at UK airports melting in the heat this year, maybe???
