I've never seen Harry Potter, I read the first book and wasn't impressed. The Lord of the Rings books are great, I didn't care much for the movies, and the first part of The Hobbit is one of the worst movies I've ever seen

Both require a suspension of reality.
And the belief that the little guy can win!
Lord of the rings has a lot of odd use of language. Need to get your head around that.
Harry potter has a lot of odd incidental charecters.
But they are both well written. And I think have all been adapted to film quite well.

well then watch these movies you get in love with fantasy movies.
Those guys are brilliant what an imaginations.

Personally I prefer Lord of the rings.
