There is a legend about an American voice teacher who used to keep a severed head in a jar on her piano. If any of her students objected, she retorted that they were unfit for the operatic stage, as they would encounter much worse sights there. 馃槼

@SW-User Good grief. Hopefully, they do not use real severed heads in any type of theatrical production. Unless that is how the bad artists ended up!

@CastorTroy No, I don't think the critics have actually beheaded anyone yet. As I remember, the point of this teacher's lectures was that you aren't ready for the stage if you can't face scary or disgusting things. The severed heads (scary disgusting things) are mostly in the audience. 馃槼
