How important are political views to you? [I Question]

Would you refuse to associate or even acknowledge someone with political opinions that don't coincide with your own?

Some political views are anathema to me, I admit. For example, I would avoid like bubonic plague anyone who still supports Donald Trump. 🙁

@bijouxbroussard I agree 💯 % with you.
I cannot have contact to a Trump-Supporter nor to any kind of racist. This would mean that I like to have contact to someone who wants to kick me and my whole family out of the country. This would be paradox! 🤦‍♀️

@Loretta78 have you ever tried discussing their views with them?
Loretta78 · 46-50, F
@Notanymore Yes, I did. Plenty of times. More than I can count. But it were discussions without any sense. 🙄

And when they didn´t know what to reply they said that I am a liar...

That´s why I don´t get into such discussions anymore since some years...

@Loretta78 okay. that's fair. I don't support Donald Trump myself, but I don't see him as a racist. I do, however know many good people that voted for him that are certainly not racist. As well as many people that voted for Biden that aren't socialists.....
@Notanymore Not the same thing. There is nothing that indicates Biden supports socialism—his record has been solidly centrist. Trump, on the other hand, had been making well-documented racist comments before, during and since his presidency.

@bijouxbroussard he's also been awarded and highly touted by black communities across the USA. Don't get me wrong, I think the guy is a slime, but I believe he's a psychopath, who just says or does what benefits himself at all times. Pretty much like any politician.
@Notanymore In later years, he revealed himself to not be a friend. Even Jesse Jackson, who once praised him, admitted he’d made a mistake. Michael Steele, former head of the RNC and first African American to hold the position, said that “Donald Trump is a divisive factor and has taken the GOP in nationalist, racist direction”. On the other hand, both Thom Robb and David Duke, current and former heads of the KKK, solidly endorsed Trump.

@bijouxbroussard of course they do. And in my opinion, all of those men mentioned are in the same position as trump, as self promoting psychopaths.
