Sciatic nerve pain

Hi just wondering how many of you have sciatic nerve pain and still get up and go to work?

I havent had sciatic pain in over twenty years; heres why. My doctor at the time was an old guy who had a lot of wisdom. He told me to NEVER carry anything in my back pocket, nothing, not even a credit card and never sit on an uneven surface. I still had some pain for a few weeks but then it went away.
