I prefer the US weather in most parts. American ales have the edge on british real ales, but I love both. British pubs have more character, but both countries people are more up for a chat in pub/bar than in my own country. The leader of one and future leader of the other are a big loss of points for me. English humour, sense of irony is ahead of US humour, and I like understatement. Americans are more positive overall (I think) - the English make an art out of cheerful non-expectation. I like the historical architecture all over Britain, the villages. US has some brilliant places with real character, but a lot more concrete shopping mall kinds of places.
I could live in either.
