Do you think that you'd be better off if you could forget some of the bad things that have happened to you in your past? Why or why not?
I think they've all taught me lessons. Like my ex husband taught me the kind of girlfriend i never want to be. The last waste of time taught me not to take crap just because you love them.

If the theory of recurrence is correct, then losing worthless specific memories is beneficial. It helps us start afresh. My friend Lucy taught me this. Interesting stuff!

Why forget ? Helps from repeating the bad ideas. Least sometimes :)

No,I don't think so. Those bad things are a part of me now, they make me who I am.They helped me grow and learn that this world isn't rainbow and unicorns. If I forgot them then I would have to learn that lesson that I learned from experiencing those bad things again.

I'm blessed.. i remember but only as if it happened to someone else... i know it was me and i remember i felt this or that but cant feel how it felt... so it's fairly easy for me to move on

As much as I'd love to, the stupid things I've done fuel my quest to avoid making a fool of myself at all costs, even if it means making a slightly lesser fool of myself.

No; I've had bad things happen to me that I didn't remember for a very very very long time.
Forgetting does not mean it does not effect you.

No. The things of the past have made me who I am, and remembering the bad things I have done keeps me from becoming the person I used to be.

No, everything is a learning experience.

@Indieoriginal I don't mean bad things that you've done. I mean bad experiences that were beyond your control. Not being that you were the cause of them.

Some of them, yes. A traumatic event. Even if it doesn't happen to you specifically. Can have a major impact on how you live as a result.
