I Have a Question

I find that when people dispute evolution they are often misinformed on the subject.

I will answer your questions or issues with evolution theory to the best of my ability.
I can definitely handle any basic (but all to common) misconceptions you might have.

Aaaaand go!

What are the odds of evolution being true.

@gregloa

what are the odds of a universe-creating super being, being true?
gregloa · 61-69, M
Your supposed to answer my question.
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@gregloa:

will you then answer mine?
gregloa · 61-69, M
We'll see, I didn't start this post

Fact is it is virtually impossible for all the things that must fall exactly into place for evolution to be true.
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@gregloa:

Nah. Not good enough.
But suit yourself.
gregloa · 61-69, M
Well what's your answer
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@gregloa:

Ah i see your mistake.

You look at an organism and think that it's impossible for so many things to happen in order for that organism to be what it is. But the problem here is that, that organism could have been anything else. You're looking at the end product as if it was always going to be the end product and deciding that it is far too unlikely.

So i've answered you. Now what do you suppose is are the odds of a infinitely powerful, universe-creating super being?

No more impossible than evolution in fact more probable in my opinion. The didn't find scrolls on evolution did they. An awful lot of people recorded the history of God and Jesus. Noah's ark is pretty solid evidence. The earth was completely flooded at one time, solid evidence. If the earth was completely flooded how is there any animal or human alive today. Who told Noah to build the ark and save animals and mankind from extinction, before it flooded.

You don't seem to have commented on the logical dismantling of the "statistically impossible" argument.

But you've decided a super-being is more likely because a certain group of people wrote down their particular creation myth.
Well that may be convincing for you, won't argue with you on that, but it's hardly a comment on the odds, the statistics. Moving on.
The earth was completely flooded at one time, solid evidence
This is factually incorrect. Many places in the world sustained flooding but it certainly wasn't during the same period as any geologist could tell you.

There's no evidence that suggests otherwise
gregloa · 61-69, M
Yes there is only nonbeliever scientists say otherwise and only recently do they say that. Scientists can come up with anything they want to prove wrong because they don't believe in God. They lie to themselves and call their beliefs facts. Scientists that do believe in God prove otherwise, funny huh. Nonbelieveing scientists are going to try and dismantle anything that pertains to God's exsistance. Time and time again they think they have something figured out and boom they find out they couldn't have been farther from the truth. One day all will believe in God, and all will know the facts. My mind won't be changed but I'm pretty sure yours will. Try proving God does exist instead of evolution, you might be surprised at how likely your mind might change.

@gregloa:

Yeah...well that deteriorated pretty rapidly.
So sorry that the VAST majority of scientists disagree with your worldview. Oh, and that would be scientist both atheist AND theist, contrary to your incredibly reductionist claim.

At least you made an initial attempt at a rational argument. I am sorry to see that once it was shown to be fundamentally flawed you switched so rapidly to attacking the credibility of scientists.

I guess this discussion has gone as far as it can, then.
Good day.

Evidently

@gregloa:

Although i should thank you for so perfectly exemplifying my initial description
when people dispute evolution they are often misinformed on the subject
, with your "What are the odds" line of argument.
gregloa · 61-69, M
Have you ever won the lottery.
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@gregloa:

lol no. But someone does every time
MetalGreymon · 36-40, M
@gregloa:

I'm just hoping your follow up isn't going to be about how a specific outcome is unlikely again...
