American people. Have you ever left the country and what was it like?

My family want to take a trip to Jamaica but I never left the country so I am horrified to go there. So please help my calm fears xD

i went to germany this summer. 110% nowhere near as awful as i thought it would be.

Really? See going going to places is half my fear. Like what if I don't have the paper work, what if I pack to much and they won't take my bags, what if I take the wrong plane, and all that. xD
