My girlfriend is the type of girl that's protective of her boyfriend, I'm curious how many women are there like her? Like girlfriends that look at her boyfriend's as a sacred thing that they love to protect no matter what?

I think it's common at your age people are competitive ESP women over men so I'd say par for the course and enjoy your loyal partner. Glad you wouldn't hurt her.
