The smaller the package, the higher the percentage cost as a whole of the packing. The actual product costs virtually nothing to make. You're just paying for the thing it comes in. Those companies would prefer you buy the biggest, cheapest version to package, but if you want to buy smaller, they don't mind charging you a premium so that they don't lose out.
@GlassDog sort of unrelated but i found out that makers of eye drops purposely make the spout the drops come out of in such a way that one drop cannot be held in your eye. Therefore, the drops run out of your eye. You go through the bottle faster that way and therefore purchase another one quicker..
@iamnikki Wow. I'd never heard that before, but it doesn't surprise me. I use eye drops when I'm having problems with my contacts and the drop never stays in my eye. We're just sitting ducks to these people!
@GlassDog right! When I was younger, I always thought I was somehow doing it wrong since they never stayed and I always needed multiple drops cover and soothe my darn eyeballs 😐
