Do you think without PM this site is more fun?

Admin are secretly holding of PMs because the replies in stories are so amusing XD

Although private messaging will of course draw attention away from stories, I don't think it will get as quiet as on EP. The main reason for it over there was, in my opinion, that the whole system was centered around questions: the stories page showed a list of recent questions but not the other way around, questions could be featured but stories couldn't, the app allowed to browse recent questions but not stories, etc. On SW the attention is much more balanced so far.

I do believe you're right.. I've interacted with the people here way more than on ep.. and that maybe the reason.

I was on EP before it was built out as well. When the PM was added it completely changed the dynamic of the site. When they added questions in they ended up drawing a lot of attention from the stories which were the heart of the original site. You will see a big decrease in story posts and comments once the PM is active.

I am just as happy without them honestly. I'll go vote in a few minutes I got stuck. My last 2 years of EP were spent honestly trying to catch up in PM's and looking for my "close friends" while trying to weed through people that wanted me to do nasty things with their pets, shave my head, show me pictures of their privates that I never asked for, demanding nude pictures of me, or demanding to play on a sexual manner. Given these persons would most likely would never say vile things in a public forum or in person. However on an anonymous site they get brave and say these things without thought for the person on the other side. So I talk to my EP friends on text or FB or mail now so I don't really miss PM.

It's so much nicer when people hold an open conversation, and we can add something to others discussions or get more people in our own. It's just so nice.

No, I want the PM feature. I might want to talk with somebody privately, without interruptions from other people.

I prefer it this way. It's easier to get to know people this way and a lot more interesting too!

I agree gentle, there was some imbalance on ep about promoting the posts and questions. You have a point.

Marcus, my point was this was keeping contributions high.. You see we wouldn't know how much fun man you were 😭

I would like to see PMs, but I must admit I'm enjoying myself pretty well without them.

Exactly, without pm stories are full of replies.. On Ep I remember 98% of the stories were like mute, ppl were hanging on questions.. But like I said, this is only an observation, I knwow pm is necessary, cause while we talk open and freely like this, core friendships are always build in pms. 😉

yes but its a very slow way and sometimes confusingf way to discuss things

That is true, and honestly I not looking forward for the PM's just a tad bit because I know the weirdo's will try to spam my inbox, Lol!
