I Have a Question

Your under the age that you are considered an adult but the court has determined it in your best interest and that you are mature enough to handle your own decisions and live on your own. Reasons can vary for this but in our case it was due to is gettig married which in my state is automatically emicpated. But to marry a judge had to determine that. Now my belief is no in fact I believe the min voting age should be higher than it is now. Just curious

Not really. Unless they just lower the voting age. I've heard of emancipated minors as young as twelve. They still need someone to take care of their basic needs,,but for any earnings, they have their own accountants etc. It only happens with very young, when there's a large amount of money involved and the parents are unscrupulous.

@serintree wow I've never heard of lower than 15 but I agree. Only one who thought an exception should be made was actually the husband of the couple we were talking with

Okay, I may be mistaken. I just looked it up and apparently 14 is the youngest.

Maybe the story about the 12 year old, was a movie. I frequently forget where I hear things. I apologize.

And it varies by state here it's same as minimum marriage age
