Leave it if you can. If 'stuck' take a deep breath, recognize it for what it is, make the conscious decision that the negativity is what "they" are about, it isn't you, not what you are about and NOT WHO YOU ARE! In essence, removing yourself from it mentally and giving your self permission to be joyful and happy around a bunch of depressing idiots. Warning though, if done effectively it can really warp your sense of humor in some ways.
