Dear hope you can get better ! Is it curable?

Breeberry · 36-40, F
I know the feeling :(. I have back problems plus sciatic nerve entrapment. So yeah :(

I'd love to be able to offer some sage advice from my own experience. But unfortunately my own experience tells me that there is bugger all to relieve the pain :(

Maybe Ibuprofen to reduce the inflammation?
Carissimi · F
Quiz, no. I think that would make it worse. I need to keep the "jelly" in the disk and off the sciatic nerve. Walking, standing, and lying on my side seems to do this, but sitting (even for a few minutes) must move it back out again, and that's when the pain flares up again.

A few years ago, I couldn't sit down for 3-weeks. It was excruciating, ended up in the ER giving me morphine injections, then I went to physical therapy for a month. I'm not at that stage yet, and I don't want to be, so I'll stand and do some lower back exercises, until I'm able to sit again without pain.
Breeberry · 36-40, F
@quiz yeah well, thats the story of my life.
@carissimi chiropractor work great for me too.
Carissimi · F
@Beowulf, thanks. I'm doing better. Just have to be careful.

@seth, yes, it's a terrible pain.
Carissimi · F
It's too hot, Quiz. I'm already sweating from walking on a humid evening. I need a cool shower, then go lay on my side.
Carissimi · F
Okay. The walk has really helped. Now I just have to remember not to sit down, or stand still too long. Basically read, watch tv, and eat standing up. It's inconvenient, but better than the pain, which as far as I know comes from the jelly like substance moving out of a bulging disk and touches the sciatic nerve.

As long as I don't end up at the ER having morphine, which has happened in the past, I'll manage.

I tried acupuncture once to help with chronic pins and needles... Oddly it didn't help!
Breeberry · 36-40, F
I have a cocktail... cataflam/flexeril,Norflex, ocaccional torador/kenalog ...should I keep the list? lol
RealMustangGuy · 61-69, MVIP
Ouch! Maybe a bit odd, but I read that acupuncture can help.

I am lucky enough not to have suffered withit but I know it's awful. My heary gord out to you.
Carissimi · F
I know. I'm going to take a walk though I hate going out in that humidity, but walking or lying on my side is the only things that diminishes the pain to tolerable, and I'm tired of lying down today.
AlyAngel · F
& its worse when preggers, I miss my meds

@Carissimi - Have you tried heat packs or a hot water bottle?
