So she and I were talking about what's going on with her: how the day's going, what did you have for lunch; that kind of stuff when she said she was meeting him for dinner. She took a big sigh and said "I can't wait to see him; I miss him."
Fortunately I expected this and replied "He misses you too." Her eyes lit and a smile - that smile - came over her face. "I can't wait for tonight....I'm going to give him a great big kiss when I see him!"
"That'll bring sunshine to his night."

Thank you very much "Heart" (if you don't mind that abbreviation). Briefly stated, I think she's terrific. And she has a guy that she thinks is terrific. I'm her friend and she needs someone who'll listen to her; that's my role. I want to confess my feelings for her but she has a lot on her plate right now and hearing something like that would be one of the very last things she needs. Besides as I said, she and he are together and that's good for her. Especially him. It tears me apart when I hear her talk about him and how she misses her previous guy. However I cannot and will not let her down or cause further confusion with my confession. That wouldn't help her. I know that. I know that very well from past experiences.
So....there you are.
