Well, it's not silly, but it's silly that I didn't press on it. A friend in college made a confession about sexuality that was actually extremely material to his life. I let it pass - probably because his confession had nothing to do with my own sexuality - and now more than 25 years into his marriage the same issue appeared again and actually destroyed his marriage.
I wonder if I had pressed on this issue with him would I have saved 25 years of his life? Probably all I would have done is lost a friend.
That guy and his wife seemed to be perfectly matched in every way. It's amazing to me that none of us can ever really know at the age of 20 what we will become at over the age of 40.
On the bright side, that guy was the co-founder of a famous company, and he made a ridiculous fortune. So now he travels the world and is having a pretty damn good time.

Love stories with (mostly) happy endings! :). And yea.. always trying to want to help friends, more often then not you lose them when you try
