I'll Keep Your Secret

I let my guard down, and because of that my heart hurts.
I know in the long term it's for the best. Right now though it's painful. My head won the battle (which logically it needed to; it should have won) and the heart just needs time to heal.
I told myself not to get emotionally invested so I have no one to blame.
I told myself not to do this again.

I'll be there for her as long as she needs me. After all that's what friends do for each other. And if the right time comes then yes I'll tell her. I'm not holding my breath.
