I'll Keep Your Secret

I let my guard down, and because of that my heart hurts.
I know in the long term it's for the best. Right now though it's painful. My head won the battle (which logically it needed to; it should have won) and the heart just needs time to heal.
I told myself not to get emotionally invested so I have no one to blame.
I told myself not to do this again.

Sometimes you can't stop the heart from what it wants.. Also you don't want to wonder years from now, what if I have chosen my heart and lifted my guard up? Life is full of chances, and if it doesn't work at least later you don't have to ask your self what if..
