Should you give up all your secrets?

I have a friend who was divorced after 9 years of marriage and two kids. A year passed, then he and the ex-wife reconciled and decided to remarry. A few days before the wedding she said to him, "This is our new start, no more secrets. Is there anything I dont know?"

My friend said he was all in and feeling safe, so he confessed something he did during the year they were divorced. Nothing illegal, just out of the box. It was nothing she would have learned without his confession, or that he planned to repeat.
She was very thrown off by this, and admitted it was something she wasn't sure if she could accept, but she would try. They remarried anyway and went on to have two more children, but after five years of both struggling, the wife decided she could not get over his secret. They divorced again!

Are some secrets better left unsaid?🤔

Secrets should be just that, secret.
