Not in the conventional sense, but I'm not an atheist.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
Do you consider yourself an agnostic?
SW-User
I'm not sure. It's all very abstract and hard to put into words.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@crossproduct: I understand, maybe it's not a subject that you gave much thoughts into.
SW-User
True, I think it's ultimately irrelevant.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@crossproduct: Perhaps if you gave it a little of thinking, you would be more certain about what you believe.
SW-User
@Madeleine: Actually, the more thought I put into it the less certain I get.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@crossproduct: That's interesting. What turns you off the most if I may ask?
SW-User
@Madeleine: that there's no way to even prove the existence of a stable objective reality (the only reality we can really ever know is our subjective experience), quantum mechanics allows for anything to happen that's computable (and everything happens eventually, given enough time), the futility of speculating about what's outside a universe we're trapped in, the impossibility of defining "intelligence" on that kind of scale, it goes on and on. I don't believe in divinity, though. It could just be a big higher-dimensional alien and we're living in its computer simulation.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@crossproduct: I respect your belief, but for me, I feel that people try to complicate the simple reality of our existence. We tend to overthink it even though God sent revelation to answer our questions. I understand that you don't believe in revelation, but I believe that the Quran is the absolute word of God, and it was sent to guide humanity to the truth. There are evidence to proof the Quran was sent by our Maker, but that's another subject that I will share with you if you're interested.

For me, there's no subject in this life more important than finding out the purpose of our creation. You already heard about life after death, and you don't believe in it, but what if it's true? Don't you want to find out?
SW-User
@Madeleine: I respect your belief too, but you're right that I don't believe in divine revelation or that God (however defined) left or leaves instructions. It's not something I really want to get into. I just have a very different perspective.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@crossproduct: I wish you all the best in your journey of life.
SW-User
@Madeleine: You too. Take care.
Madeleine · 41-45, F
@crossproduct: You too, but before I go, I would like to share with you an English translation of the Quran. Feel free to read it .. in case you changed your mind.
