Know your consonants joke Long A glum guy is sitting on a park bench. His friend walks up to him.

"What's going on? Why are you so sad?" the friend asks.

"I just got fired from my job at the animal shelter for accidentally saying the wrong thing," says the guy.

"What?! Why'd they fire you over something like that?" the friend exclaims.

"You know what a spoonerism is?" asks the guy.

"No?" replies the friend.

"It's where you switch the first letters of two words by accident." says the guy.

"Okay, so why were you fired over something so silly?" asks the friend.

"Well, I was showing this older lady a female puppy, the runt of a litter, that she was thinking to adopt." the guy begins.

"And?"

"And what I tried to tell her was 'she's a capable runt'"
