How many languages do you speak?

@SW-User 🤷‍♀️ I don’t know. I hear jokes about it a lot. They call me ice princess, and I don’t like it, I’m just me.

@DarkHeaven I speak English and enough French to sort of get by where I live, though I’m much better reading it. I know quite a few phrases in various other languages, but can’t have a conversation.

@DarkHeaven Agreed. French here isn’t true French though (but if you say that to the French community, they’ll have a fit). It’s more of a dialect. I knew a woman from France and she didn’t understand a lot of the French here.

@WanderingThrough Icelandic is really rough by comparison. Of all the Nordic languages, we are the closest to the original Old Norse and you can literally feel the Viking in it. It’s very harsh and in the throat. Sounds like we are hacking and spitting. lol

@DarkHeaven haha, that sounds hilarious. There’s an Icelandic community close to where I live, they would normally have a festival every year and from what I understand, they really represent Iceland well. It always makes me want to go to Iceland, hopefully one day.
