I don't buy it for a second. I remember in 1985, the headlines on the local news paper had a half a page picture and article about how we burned a hole in the ozone layer. It was going to cause the great lakes to dry up and burn a dessert down the middle of the U.S.
Well I wish I had saved it. There is no hole in the ozone I know this because it is a gas. If it were true then spaceships would puncture it and Scooby do could really cut fog with a knife. LOL

Perhaps a better term would be climate change?

Of course it's true. It is of course a matter of scale. I like my climate semi warm myself. Humans can only effect a minute fraction even today and over the course of thousands of years. Therefore throwing money at it is a waste of time. Like worrying over a slightly discolored pin in a pile of 10 billion pins and expecting a billion dollars for it.

I will also throw this out and leave the question alone...the earth is a few billion years old. Humans and their ancestors have been around a few million. Modern record keeping is a very modern idea.
Scientists have identified rising CO2 levels in the ocean.. acidification..?
We are impacting the planet..
The frog in the pot never know.

Don't forget Carl Sagan in the 70's telling us by the year 2000 the US would be in an ice age.

I don't think there can be any question about global warming now or the damage we are doing to our environment. Some scientists and the general public can still thumb their noses at it but it's now something we need to finally do something about, but I don't see it happening because environmentalists share a common enemy: an economic system run by and for the wealthiest people in the world. Capitalist greed.

Another term I've heard instead of Global Warming is Global Weirding... which is actually more scientifically accurate I think!
