Once there was a blue bird. The blue bird could fly far and free. She wanted to.
But there were two injured and traumatized birds who couldn't and didn't want to fly inside the cage. So even when the cage is opened, the blue bird chose to stay.
If she chooses to fly, she would have to do it with the entire cage on her back.
And she wasn't strong enough for it. She would break.
For a long while, the blue bird shackled her own feet to the cage so she would always know and be forced to return. Her world was small, the path she could take, so few and so narrow.
Day by day, the blue bird flies out to a short distance and returns. Fly and return. Fly and return.
One day and then another and another and another.
The blue bird kept at it. Pain, backache, everything was ignored.
The blue bird has a purpose, albeit an imaginative one.
The blue bird had always wanted to fly and enjoy the sky, side-by-side with the other birds. So flying out in the broad sky solo was not an option.

Eventually, the blue bird started to wonder why the flight and limits didn't feel as hard. Why her back didn't ache as much.
And when the blue bird looked at her foot, she saw that what was formerly shackles had turned into a golden string so thin and light.
She is still tied but the string had become extendable, going as far as she's willing to fly before coming back.
And when she looked back at the open cage, what was once a small world is now nurtured so well that flowers of different kinds are growing inside and outside it. It extends to a long distance and looks like a forest garden centered on the cage. And the birds inside didn't look as frail. They now have a glow in them. And once in a while, they too fly out.

Some circumstance make you feel helpless. But they leave a room to either grow or sink. With each step, the helplessness diminishes. :) Just grit your teeth and keep at it. All you need is a strong enough why.
